IEP Pal

IEP Pal is a platform I co-founded with Ansel Natarajan to help special education teachers manage Individualized Education Plans and actually support the kids who depend on them. It's basically one place for IEP creation, data collection, goal tracking, and strategy planning, instead of the usual mess of spreadsheets, PDFs, and three different LMSes (which is what most schools are running right now, somehow). The whole point is to give teachers their time back so they can spend it on the relationships that actually move the needle, not paperwork.

We didn't just guess at what teachers needed, we did the research properly - surveys with teachers, interviews with parents, and structured interviews with educators across seven countries. The big finding was that teachers aren't drowning in too little data, they're drowning in the wrong kind of it - so we designed the product around the Street Data Framework, which surfaces the real-time observational stuff teachers actually use to make decisions instead of the lagging end-of-quarter test scores everyone fixates on.

The app has a custom qualitative survey builder (Likert scales, checkboxes, free text), data visualizations including boxplots, bar charts, and trend prediction for tracking progress over time, and a strategy library of 150+ evidence-based interventions I curated from 12 books across categories like behavioral support, emotional regulation, literacy, and executive function. Built on AWS Amplify with role-based access and encrypted storage because if you're storing student data you need to actually take that seriously.

We started in mid-2024, somehow built the MVP through both of us doing mandatory military national service in Singapore, shipped it in March 2026, and we're currently running a pilot at a school in India with dozens of students. PS: I had an IEP myself growing up, this one's personal.
